Public Enemies is a movie about crime and gangster drama in the Great Depression era directed by Michael Mann. The movie is adapted from Bryan Burrough's non fiction book Public Enemies: America's Greatest Crime Wave and the Birth of the FBI, 1933–34. Public Enemies movie explores an FBI agent sent by J. Edgar Hoover, Melvin Purvis (played by Christian Bale) and his attempt to fight against and catch criminals John Dillinger (Johnny Depp), an American bank robber, Baby Face Nelson (Stephen Graham), and Pretty Boy Floyd (Channing Tatum). Dillinger's singer girlfriend Billie Frechette is played by Oscar winner Marion Cotillard.
