One Washington DC Metro transit train smashed into the rear of another DC Metro at the height of Washington's Monday evening rush hour. The DC Metro accident reportedly killing at least six people and injuring many others as the front end of the trailing DC Metro train jackknifed violently into the air and fell atop the first DC Metro train.
Each Metro train had six cars and was capable of holding as many as 1,200 people. Cars of both DC Metro trains were ripped open and smashed together in the around 5 p.m. EDT worst accident in the Metrorail system's 33-year history.
